Y’all know about my love for California. I’ve said it loud and clear every time I’ve had the chance. I normally like to visit new states in America with every new trip we take but the rule does not apply in this case. We have visited Cali several times and we keep coming back. In the past, we’ve taken routes such as L.A. to San Francisco, L.A. to San Diego or just stopped in Newport Beach for a whole week but this time we decided it’s finally time to discover Napa. I was born in September, so back home my birthday would always catch me in the wine fields. Since moving to Texas, 7 years ago, I have not had the chance to visit one, so Dima said we were going to do it this year and reminisce old times. And boy, there was not a moment on this trip I did not have fun. From the gloomy San Francisco, to a stroll in beautiful Sausalito, to wondering a few wine estates this state, as always, did not disappoint.
So if you are in San Francisco Bay for a weekend, here are a few things you can do:
- Stroll through San Francisco, take a long walk from Pacific Heights to Golden Gate Park Beach
- Drive the Golden Gate bridge and stop for a breath of fresh air in Sausalito village
- Head to the valley, lower your car windows or even better, rent a convertible and let your hair and feelings lose while driving through the beautiful county
- Visit some wineries in Napa and Sonoma. A few popular names that will guarantee your first timer satisfaction are Domaine Carneros, Robert Mondavi, Alfa & Omega
